Dear fellow Travellers, 

Like all travel agencies we have had to reschedule, reroute and cancel many or our guests’ flights over the last few weeks and have had to become experts on Covid-19 rebooking policies!

Since we have seen many travellers express confusion and asking questions on various social media platforms, we have decided to publish the information we gathered for our clients in hope it may help you. 

This doesn’t cover all the airlines in the world, only the ones we’ve dealt with and policies may have slightly changed in the last few days, but it should give you a great start. 

If you booked your flights through a travel agency or a third party, please note in most cases you will have to go through them and will not be able to claim your voucher directly on the airline’s website.

Postpone my trip : For any booking made before 31 March 2020, you have until 30 September 2020 to postpone your departure date without any rebooking fee, subject to availability of the same fare. Your new trip must begin no later than 1 year after the original date of travel.  

Cancel My Trip: If you purchased a ticket directly from the airline, please complete the online form to obtain a travel voucher.  This non-refundable voucher is valid for 1 year on all Air France, KLM, Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic flights. Re-routings are allowed! The credit will be applicable for most routes.

Postpone or cancel my trip 

 They will issue a voucher and make no difference between rebooking (same destination) rerouting (different destination) or cancelling.  

Validity of both : 1 Year from original Date of Travel. Valid only for booking departing up to Sunday 31 May 2020.   They allow you to change your destination, date of travel, or both for free, on all new bookings made from Tuesday 3 March to Sunday 31 May 2020, as well as any existing bookings that depart up to Sunday 31 May 2020.  You will receive a voucher for the exact value you paid which you can use to pay your new ticket.   

When they receive your form, you existing booking will be cancelled at no charge and they will email you with the voucher to the value of your booking.

Postpone my trip : 

Valid for booking departing up to 30 April 2021.  For any booking made before 19 April 2020 , you have until 31 August 2020 to postpone your departure date without any rebooking fee, subject to availability of the same fare. Your new trip must begin no later than 30 April 2021. Incentive: For every rebooked ticket with new departure date up to 31 December 2020 an up to 50€ discount on the ticket price is offered additionally.  

 Cancel my trip Valid for booking departing up to 31 December 2020.   For any booking made before 19 April 2020 and with a travel date through 31st December 2020, you may claim a voucher on their online form.   You have until 31 August 2020 to request a voucher to the value of your booking.

They will issue a voucher and make no difference between rebooking (same destination) rerouting (different destination) or cancelling.  

Validity of both : 1 year from original date of issue, (Careful, not DATE of Travel). 

 Valid for booking departing up to 31 December 2020 .  If your booking was made before 20 March 2020,  and departing up to 31 December 2020 you may request a voucher on their online form  without any rebooking fee, subject to availability of the same fare.

Postpone or cancel my trip.  

No need to apply for a voucher, as your ticket will remain open for use for issue and travel up to 25 March 2022. 

 Valid for booking both issued and departing up to 31 August 2020

 Validity of both : Your new trip must begin no later than 25 March 2022.  There is no need to call SAA or amend your ticket as all tickets will remain open for use for issue and travel up to 25 March 2022.  

Good to know : SAA allow you to nominate your Travel Credit to an Alternate Traveler. SAA will require the full name and surname of the new traveler as per passport details at the time of rebooking. 

The original ticket in your name will be converted by SAA to a voucher for use on the new ticket. 

Please note that this offering can only be done via an SAA Ticketing office or apply online

Valid only for tickets purchased before 30 April 2020 and bookings departing up to 30 June 2020.   

Vouchers must be requested by 31 May 2020.
