South Africa is Travel Ready

Francois Lebrun • 9 June 2020
"When will I again be able to travel to South Africa?" is the one question we've heard more than any other since Covid-19 caused borders to shut and airlines to be grounded.
And although we do not have 100% confirmation yet, according the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, the country may be ready for international travel as early as 1 September 2020! Woohooo!!! 🍾🥂 The local tourism industry is working very hard to make sure we can welcome visitors for the summer season (September to March), while ensuring safety from a Covid-19 perspective.
We'll keep you posted when we hear more, but in the meantime we're crossing our fingers and looking forward towards a reopening to international tourism on 1 September 😉
PS: JD is feeling especially hopeful since his birthday is on 1 September and is certain this is a good luck omen (not to mention a wonderful birthday gift) 🙂
